During my tenure at PaxOcean Shipyard Singapore, I had the unique opportunity to work on the drydocking repair of the Tûranor PlanetSolar—the world’s largest solar-powered catamaran. This groundbreaking vessel is known for completing the first circumnavigation of the globe using only solar energy, and supporting sustainability and marine innovation.
As part of the project team, I was involved in overseeing drydocking activities, including hull inspection, underwater repairs, coating works, and machinery servicing. Given the vessel’s lightweight composite construction and high-tech solar infrastructure, the work required precision planning and coordination with classification societies and the owner's technical team.
The project presented a rare blend of modern marine engineering and sustainability, and it remains one of the most remarkable vessels I’ve ever had the privilege to support.
